Position Title: Network Architect
Location Information
Brentwood, TN
Position Responsibilities:
As a Network Architect, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex LAN and WAN environments. You will work with a variety of networking platforms, including Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot LAN and WAN service issues across Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
- Conduct configuration and support for switching (Cisco 3750x, 9200, 9300, Cisco Nexus, Fortiswitch) and routing (Cisco ASR, ISR, Fortigate, Meraki) solutions.
- Install and activate network hardware, including site deployment of leased WAN circuits.
- Maintain updated and accurate network documentation and architectural diagrams.
- Create, review, and implement change scripts for network modifications and upgrades.
- Participate in daily operational team meetings and various project-based meetings.
- Collaborate with the security team to quickly mitigate and resolve active network threats.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance during network deployments and migrations.
Essential Skills, Experience
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, proven hands-on networking experience, and the ability to lead and manage a variety of network projects.
- Certification: Active CCIE required (or exam scheduled).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Information Systems, with at least 5+ years in an architect capacity, ideally within the healthcare sector.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on networking with Cisco projects, including design and troubleshooting.
- Minimum 3 years of SD-WAN experience, with demonstrated proficiency in deploying and managing SD-WAN solutions.
- Direct experience configuring and troubleshooting LAN infrastructures (STP, Ether-channel/Port Channel, Dot1.Q Trunking, VTP, 802.1x, DHCP, DACLs).
- Solid experience with WAN technologies, including troubleshooting VRFs, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), IP ACLs, and leased circuits.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting AAA/TACACS+ systems and designing IP addressing schemes.
- Proficiency in identifying and resolving 802.11 wireless infrastructure and client connectivity issues.
- Experience configuring SNMP monitoring and comprehensive network logging solutions.
- Strong documentation skills, including proficiency in Visio and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with a commitment to outstanding customer service and documentation best practices.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and balance strategic planning with operational problem-solving.
- Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and a solutions-oriented “can do” attitude.
- Ability to travel up to 10% per year, primarily within the middle Tennessee region.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (or equivalent hands-on technical training).
- Active CCIE certification or exam scheduled is required for this role.
