Position Title: Senior Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer
Location Information
Wichita, KS or Minneapolis, MN
Onsite 5 days a week
Position Responsibilities:
As a Senior Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of our enterprise systems infrastructure. You will leverage your advanced technical expertise to provide end-to-end administration, engineering, and operational support across critical and enterprise-scale environments. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading-edge virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, automation tools, and secure/high-availability infrastructures. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust enterprise systems infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
- Administering and engineering virtualization platforms including VMware and other virtualization technologies.
- Managing and supporting cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS, with exposure to Azure considered a plus.
- Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for complex infrastructure and system issues.
- Building, running, and maintaining containerized services and workloads using Kubernetes and other container technologies.
- Administering Windows Server environments, ensuring systems are patched, monitored, and aligned with security standards.
- Managing Active Directory, domains, GPOs, and related authentication and authorization services.
- Monitoring and ensuring the health and performance of enterprise systems using tools such as Tanium and SolarWinds.
- Supporting and managing enterprise storage solutions, with a preference for candidates experienced in HP storage technologies.
- Implementing and maintaining automation and scripting solutions to drive operational efficiency, including leveraging AI-assisted tools where appropriate.
- Operating and supporting systems in controlled, security-sensitive environments (including DMZ and other critical network segments).
- Adhering to process controls, security models (such as Purdue Model), and other critical systems architectures and protocols.
- Developing and maintaining documentation, procedures, and best practices related to systems management and support.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a systems administration or systems engineering capacity.
- Extensive hands-on experience with VMware and other leading virtualization platforms.
- Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot Windows Server environments in medium-to-large enterprise settings.
- Experience supporting and managing AWS-based cloud infrastructures; Azure experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in advanced troubleshooting and escalation support (Levels 2/3).
- Experience using enterprise monitoring platforms such as Tanium and SolarWinds for proactive systems management.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Active Directory administration, including domains and Group Policy management.
- Understanding of working within security-sensitive, controlled, or critical infrastructure environments, including exposure to DMZ or Purdue Model architectures.
- Ability to build, implement, and support containerized services and applications using Kubernetes (highly preferred).
- Experience managing enterprise storage systems; HP storage experience is preferred.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python); familiarity with AI-based automation is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of complex tasks, and drive solutions to completion.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with a focus on technical clarity and knowledge sharing.
- Comfortable thriving in high-availability, mission-critical, and process-oriented environments.
