Position Title:     Consultant – Insurance Summit

Location Information  

Hybrid (Kansas City) | Part-time: Average 25 hours/week; additional hours may be required around event dates

Position Responsibilities:


As a Consultant – Insurance Summit, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning and execution of a key Insurance Summit and its related workshops and events. You will lead efforts to ensure a high-quality, engaging, and well-coordinated experience for all participants in alignment with organizational goals. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will create innovative learning opportunities and seamless event logistics, with ownership over all aspects of the event lifecycle:

  • Concept Development: Partner with stakeholders to define conference themes, set objectives, and identify the target audience.
  • Division Coordination:
    • Intra-divisional: Collaborate with internal meetings, events, education, and training teams to ensure seamless meeting logistics and educational programming.
    • Inter-divisional: Work with subject matter and operations experts across different organizational departments and affiliates for cohesive conference planning.
  • Speaker Recruitment: Identify, solicit, and secure keynote speakers from within the industry, effectively engaging high-profile leaders and experts whose insights align with the event’s vision.
  • Program Development: Design an engaging, modernized agenda that may include keynote speeches, breakout sessions, panels, workshops, and networking opportunities—tailored to attendee needs.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with communications to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive attendance, including content for websites, social media, email campaigns, and print materials.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and control the event budget, ensuring expenses for venue, speakers, accommodations, and related logistics are accurately tracked and aligned with fiscal goals.
  • On-site Coordination: Provide on-the-ground leadership during the event, managing logistical execution, supporting speakers, overseeing setup, and ensuring attendees receive necessary assistance for a positive experience.
  • Post-Conference Evaluation: Collect and analyze attendee and speaker feedback, providing recommendations for continuous improvement in future conference planning.

 

Essential Skills, Experience


  • Proven experience supporting and owning the successful delivery of large-scale professional conferences or major corporate events.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and execute all phases of event planning, including program development, speaker management, logistics, and budget oversight.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and divisions, building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience in marketing event programming through digital, print, and social channels.
  • Firm grasp of modern learning and engagement strategies within conference settings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team—strong organizational and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Attention to detail, with the capacity to thrive in a deadline-driven environment and adapt quickly to shifting event needs.
  • Available to work a part-time schedule averaging 25 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate additional hours during key periods leading up to and during the event.
