Position Title: Junior Windows Engineer (Entry Level)
Location Information: Hybrid-Dallas
Position Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Windows Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in data center environments, particularly in racking/unracking servers, structured cabling, and supporting Windows-based systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to maintain and support our Windows infrastructure and ensure optimal performance of our data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows servers and related hardware.
• Perform physical tasks in the data center, including racking/unracking servers, cable management, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Monitor system performance and assist in resolving hardware and software issues.
• Support patch management, system updates, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of hardware inventory, cabling diagrams, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and deployments.
• Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to data center best practices and safety protocols.
Essential Skills, Experience:
• 1–2 years of experience in a data center or IT support environment.
• Hands-on experience with racking/unracking servers and structured cabling.
• Basic understanding of Windows Server operating systems (2016/2019/2022).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic networking concepts.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with remote management tools (e.g., iDRAC, iLO).
• Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred).
• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, or similar.
