Position Title:     QA Automation Engineer 

Location Information  

Onsite Monday-Thursday, Remote Friday. 6+ Month Contract.

Position Responsibilities:

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated test suites as well as supporting manual testing activities. The role is critical for delivering scalable automation frameworks and tools to ensure that technology releases meet business requirements and uphold the highest standards of quality prior to production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated test frameworks and scripts to achieve high test coverage across diverse applications and platforms, including web interfaces, APIs, and backend systems.
• Develop new automated tests for validating new features and ensure existing functionality remains stable, identifying potential usability issues and weaknesses.
• Maintain detailed and repeatable Test Cases, Test Suites, and Test Plans using designated Test Management tools. Demonstrate strong discipline in test case management for reliable test operations.
• Conduct exploratory and manual testing activities to supplement automation, focusing on edge case detection, production issue identification, and quality standards enforcement.
• Act as a subject matter expert for multiple applications, product lines, and/or business processes, fostering effective collaboration between product and engineering teams.
• Reveal and document issues as they arise, track resolution status, and communicate test progress, results, and relevant information to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Partner with Senior QA Automation Engineers and Architects to drive improvements in automation infrastructure, including efficient CI/CD pipeline integration, improved test data management, and the creation of reusable test utilities that reduce manual testing overhead.

Essential Skills, Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in automated testing using industry-standard frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or others).
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in automating API and web service testing for both synchronous and asynchronous workflows (REST, SOAP), with a good understanding of SQL and database validation.
• Minimum 1 year working with an object-oriented programming language, such as Java, C#, Python, Ruby, etc.
• Experience utilizing performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6 is beneficial.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming as related to test automation (Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or similar languages).
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of test case management, defect tracking, and evidence-based testing.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to act as a technical point of contact within cross-functional product and engineering teams.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of automation failures and production defects.
• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and integration of automation frameworks is a plus.

• Familiarity with statistical data analysis is a plus, especially in scenarios involving large datasets.
