Position Title: Technical Project Manager
Location Information
Onsite – Kansas City, MO | 4 days onsite, 1 day/week remote flexibility (must be local to the Kansas City metro area)
Position Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of 6–10 concurrent infrastructure and technical projects. The person in this role will be execution-focused, playing a critical part in ensuring project delivery remains on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with approved project plans. This position is not hands-on technical delivery, but rather the central point of accountability for honest and up-to-date project status to leadership and stakeholders.
- Simultaneously manage a portfolio of 6–10 active infrastructure or technical projects, maintaining strict oversight of timeliness, milestone achievement, and plan-versus-actual performance metrics.
- Monitor and report on project health—including schedule, budget, scope, and risk—regularly and accurately to stakeholders.
- Identify schedule slippage and resource conflicts as early as possible; develop and drive corrective actions, not just elevate concerns.
- Coordinate cross-functionally among infrastructure, network, systems, and vendor teams to facilitate solutions and proactively remove project blockers.
- Maintain all project documentation, such as project charters, schedules, RAID logs, and status reports.
- Escalate project risks and resourcing gaps to leadership with clear, data-driven recommendations for resolution.
- Administer change control and manage scope changes, ensuring adherence to project baselines and documentation requirements.
Essential Skills, Experience
- PMP certification is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience managing technical and infrastructure projects, demonstrating ownership of multiple concurrent projects at a portfolio level (not just single large programs).
- Strong background and understanding of infrastructure project delivery—such as data centers, network and systems migration, cloud infrastructure deployments, or similar technical disciplines.
- Proficiency in using project scheduling and management tools (such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or comparable applications), with a proven ability to prepare leadership-level reporting documents.
- Demonstrated strength in coordinating project activities across internal technical teams and external vendor partners.
- Local residency in the Kansas City metro area is required (attendance onsite for 4 days per week).
Qualifications:
- Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred, especially with familiarity in HIPAA-adjacent project management, compliance, and dealing with change windows and downtime coordination.
- Experience managing both internal resources and third-party vendor/contractor teams in a technical delivery environment.
