Position Title:     DevOps Engineer

Location Information  

Remote (Dallas or Atlanta; CST or EST preferred)

Position Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team on an immediate, contract basis (6+ months). The successful candidate will play a key role in the modernization, enhancement, and ongoing support of a critical internal enterprise application. This position will focus heavily on implementing and supporting DevOps best practices, application infrastructure, automation, and production support.

• Support the ongoing development, deployment, and operational stability of an internal enterprise application.
• Assist in modernizing and replacing legacy application components with scalable, serverless, and maintainable solutions.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and release processes.
• Develop and support critical application infrastructure necessary to maintain a robust production environment.
• Troubleshoot application, deployment, and infrastructure issues while working collaboratively with internal technical and business teams to coordinate problem resolution.
• Partner closely with software developers to continually improve deployment processes, application reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Support enterprise services and API integrations, including managing API Gateway technologies on AWS.
• Collaborate with development teams to help enhance both the application's user interface and overall user experience.
• Implement and maintain application monitoring, identify performance bottlenecks, and drive improvements for greater stability and reliability.
• Author and maintain deployment documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks to ensure consistent production operation.
• Participate in production support activities, incident response, performing root cause analysis, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively across infrastructure, application development, QA, and business stakeholder teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Essential Skills, Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of direct experience as a DevOps Engineer supporting enterprise-level applications.
• Demonstrated experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Github OIDC and GitHub Actions.
• Comprehensive experience supporting applications in production AWS cloud environments.
• Proven ability to modernize or replace legacy applications by applying contemporary development, deployment, and AI-based practices.
• Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure, deployment automation (including Terraform), and effective release management processes.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise services and AWS API Gateway technologies.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, integrations, and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience in application infrastructure support and handling production issues across multiple business units.
• Familiarity with modern source control tools, especially Git.
• Scripting and automation skills utilizing Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Deep understanding of DevOps methodologies, including monitoring, observability, logging, and operational best practices.
• Demonstrates strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication abilities; able to work directly and effectively with application, infrastructure, and business teams.
• Experience working with or operating AI systems such as Claude or Claude code systems is highly desirable.
