Position Title:     Software Engineer (Java Developer)

Position Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer (Java Developer), you will work within a dynamic technology team to design, develop, test, and support enterprise-scale software applications. You’ll be responsible for building robust backend solutions and integrating cloud technologies to meet business needs. This contract role is expected to last a minimum of 6 months, with the intention to convert to a permanent position. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software lifecycle, applying industry best practices to deliver secure and high-performance applications.

Essential Skills, Experience

• Proven hands-on experience with Java programming in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Kotlin is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Practical experience with JDBC; experience with JPA is an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of Spring Framework and Java EE (JEE).
• Experience with Tomcat application server and Spring Boot is strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience developing and managing SQL databases, with a preference for Oracle.
• Proficiency building and consuming REST APIs.
• Professional experience in a Linux-based environment is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS (Amazon Web Services) or similar technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Familiarity with containerization tools and concepts.
• Familiarity or experience with AI-based development tools (e.g., Amazon Q) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to writing clean, efficient code.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup as well as collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
