Position Title:     System Integrator – RHEL / OpenSearch / Automation

Position Responsibilities:

• Integrate, configure, and maintain Linux-based backend systems, with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 and/or 8 environments.
• Administer and support OpenSearch backend services, including data ingestion, indexing, troubleshooting, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Build and maintain dashboards using OpenSearch Dashboards, Kibana, Grafana, or similar visualization platforms to provide operational insights.
• Develop, update, and maintain automation scripts leveraging Python and Bash to streamline operational tasks and enhance system reliability.
• Create, manage, and execute Ansible playbooks for configuration management, deployment, patching, and orchestration of repeatable system processes.
• Troubleshoot technical issues across Linux systems, backend services, dashboards, permissions, data flow, and indexing arenas.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to collect requirements and develop practical integration solutions and dashboards meeting organizational needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation for configurations, automation scripts, playbooks, operational procedures, and troubleshooting protocols.
• Assist in monitoring, conducting system health checks, and driving continuous improvement for backend infrastructure.

 

Essential Skills, Experience

• Proven hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 and/or 8 system administration, troubleshooting, and backend support.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Python scripts for automation and operations tasks.
• Strong Bash or shell scripting experience to handle day-to-day automation and integration requirements.
• Extensive experience utilizing Ansible for configuration management, automation, and deployment workflows.
• Operational experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or equivalent search/indexing platforms, including backend service administration and data management.
• Demonstrated dashboarding expertise using OpenSearch Dashboards, Kibana, Grafana, or comparable visualization and monitoring tools.
• Solid ability to troubleshoot backend service issues, data ingestion processes, indexing concerns, permission-related errors, and overall system performance challenges.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills to support knowledge sharing and collaboration across technical teams.

Qualifications:

• Experience in systems integration, DevOps, infrastructure support, or platform engineering is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON data structures, log aggregation, observability, or advanced monitoring tools is an asset.
• Background supporting production, classified, federal, or mission-critical environments is a plus.
• Understanding of Linux security practices, including access controls, patch management, and system hardening is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
