Position Title: Citrix Engineer
Location Information
100% Remote
6 Month Contract
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments to support business needs and client requirements.
- Configure and maintain Citrix ADC (NetScaler) appliances for load balancing, application delivery, and secure remote access.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues pertaining to Citrix infrastructure, including connectivity, authentication, and latency.
- Implement and manage core Citrix components such as StoreFront, Director, and Studio, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to enforce security best practices, including access control, encryption, and endpoint security protocols.
- Continuously monitor Citrix environments using appropriate tools and analytics, proactively identifying and mitigating potential performance issues.
- Participate in organizational change control processes, maintain accurate documentation, and engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives across the technical team.
- Provide advanced (L3) support and serve as a subject matter expert for Citrix and NetScaler platforms for both project and operational needs.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including proactive incident response planning and execution for Citrix environments.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in a production environment.
- At least 2 years' experience in configuring and managing Citrix ADC (NetScaler) for secure application delivery and load balancing.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with Windows Server platforms, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
- Proficiency in deploying and troubleshooting Citrix StoreFront, Director, and Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
- Solid understanding of network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, HTTPS, SSL VPNs, and related networking concepts essential for virtual desktop and application delivery.
- Experience in using monitoring tools and automating tasks via scripting languages (PowerShell preferred) for operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex Citrix systems issues with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Citrix certifications such as Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V), Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V), or Citrix Certified Professional – Networking (CCP-N) are highly desirable.
- Experience working with cloud-based Citrix deployments, including Citrix Cloud and Azure Virtual Desktop, is preferred.
- Familiarity with information security frameworks and compliance standards is a plus.
