Position Title:      Network Engineer

Location Information  Tulsa, OK

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Network Engineer will play a key role in supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure across both local area (LAN) and wide area (WAN) environments. This position collaborates with internal teams to ensure network operations are secure, reliable, and scalable, while actively contributing to deployments, network changes, and incident response efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting issues related to local area and wide area network services on Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
  • Configuring switching platforms such as Cisco 3750x, 9200, and 9300 series, Cisco Nexus, and FortiSwitch devices.
  • Configuring routing across platforms including Cisco ASR and ISR, FortiGate, and Meraki equipment.
  • Installing network hardware and supporting onsite infrastructure deployment.
  • Activating and supporting leased WAN circuits to ensure connectivity and service levels.
  • Participating in daily team meetings as well as project-related discussions to align with evolving business objectives.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive network documentation.
  • Developing and reviewing change scripts and detailed implementation plans to minimize disruption and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Collaborating with security teams to identify and mitigate active network threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Traveling up to 20% annually, as needed, to support network deployments and field operations.

 

Essential Skills, Experience


  • At least five (5) years of experience working in Information Systems, with preferred background in healthcare environments.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on networking experience supporting Cisco-based projects in enterprise settings.
  • Proven capabilities troubleshooting and configuring LAN infrastructures, including:
    • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
    • EtherChannel or Port Channel configuration
    • Dot1Q trunking and VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP)
    • 802.1x authentication
    • Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) management
    • Downloadable Access Control Lists (DACLs)
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting WAN infrastructures, particularly in:
    • Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF)
    • Routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP
    • IP access control lists and WAN-leased circuits
  • Strong experience with Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) and TACACS+ configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Practical experience designing and managing IP addressing schemes for enterprise networks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot client and general network connectivity issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience configuring network monitoring and logging via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and related tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with the following technologies:
    • Cisco switching and routing platforms
    • Meraki cloud-managed networks
    • Fortinet FortiGate and FortiSwitch appliances
    • General local and wide area network technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge in team settings.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, and a collaborative approach to project and incident response work.

Qualifications:


  • Associate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent technical training. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred. A recently expired certification or comparable real-world hands-on networking experience will be considered.
