Position Title:  Senior Account Executive

Location Information  Kansas City, MO (Onsite/Hybrid)

 

Position Responsibilities:


As a Senior Account Executive, you will take ownership of a significant client portfolio, leading its profit and loss performance and driving both immediate and long-term revenue growth. You will develop and implement business development strategies to expand client relationships, maximize profitability, and deliver high-quality service standards. You will work collaboratively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to define and achieve annual goals, lead the execution of business plans, and champion operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the financial performance of your assigned business segment, ensuring sales and profit targets are met or exceeded through strategic business development and customer growth initiatives.
  • Promote and nurture a positive organizational culture and reputation across markets, staff, clients, suppliers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify, generate, and convert leads through effective marketing, networking, and relationship-building with both current and prospective clients.
  • Drive profitability through sound decision-making, new business development, and by executing a comprehensive strategy for existing accounts and new opportunities.
  • Lead, facilitate, and participate in identifying, sourcing, and implementing new business initiatives within your division.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by cultivating ongoing client relationships to understand their staffing needs; develop tailored solutions that address critical talent gaps.
  • Negotiate contracts, including fees and terms, during business-to-business discussions to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Expand service offerings and market reach by uncovering new industry and geographic opportunities; collaborate with other teams through client discovery meetings to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Manage escalations, resolve issues promptly for client projects and staffing engagements, and maintain strong service delivery standards.
  • Ensure quality control and efficient administration of candidate submittals to fulfill client resource needs.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and presentations to win new business.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, professional networking events, and user groups to enhance brand visibility and expand your professional network.
  • Provide accurate visibility into sales pipeline and business results via CRM data entry, sales activity tracking, regular status and expense reports, and forecasting.
  • Monitor industry trends, client developments, and competitor activities to adjust business strategies accordingly.
  • Continuously educate yourself on client industries, innovative staffing solutions, and best practices to better serve your clients and contribute to refining the company's value proposition.
  • Champion internal collaboration—work cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver on operational needs, ensure best-in-class service delivery, and optimize business processes.
  • Drive business strategy, including proposal development, pricing, presentations, and ongoing client management activities.
  • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure high service quality and profitability across all engagements.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships and alliances to expand market reach and accelerate company growth.
  • Contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence—streamlining reporting, automation efforts, and process optimization wherever possible.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the company’s mission and values in the community and industry at large.
  • Work flexibly, including occasional off-peak, weekend, or holiday shifts as business needs dictate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Essential Skills, Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (required). Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales, marketing, business development, or operations management roles; or 5 years’ experience with a relevant graduate degree.
  • Proven experience within the staffing industry or professional services sector is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, organize effectively, and maximize time management for optimal efficiency.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with an executive presence both internally and externally.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities, capable of developing rapport and negotiating for mutual benefit with clients at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint; advanced skills in data analysis, report automation, and systems integration highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Expertise in client evaluation, needs assessment, solution design, and customizing services to client specifications.
  • Advanced problem-solving capacity and analytical acumen; able to deliver actionable reporting and partner with cross-functional teams on operational improvements.
  • Client service mindset; proactive and skilled at handling escalations or complex requests.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives, process innovation, and automation to support business scalability.
  • Ability to drive measurable impact on business performance, profitability, and service quality.
  • Results-oriented self-starter with a strong drive for success and passion for achieving and exceeding targets.
  • 5 years of direct managerial experience with profit/loss responsibility preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, compose, and comprehend complex communications and instructions in English.
  • Mental acuity and vision dexterity to interpret and analyze data effectively.
  • Flexibility to work off-peak, weekend, or holiday shifts as business requirements arise.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate across client, associate, and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong critical thinking with both logical and creative approaches to complex problem-solving.
  • Physical ability to move, organize, or lift objects up to 20 pounds as needed.
