Position Title:     Technical Project Manager

Location Information

Kansas City, MO – Onsite 4 days per week, with 1 remote day flexibly available; must be local to the Kansas City metro area.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for owning a portfolio of 6–10 concurrent infrastructure and technical projects. This is a high-visibility, execution-focused role where you will be the go-to person for project status, delivery health, and schedule performance. Successful candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex deliverables across multiple teams and vendors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the simultaneous delivery of 6–10 active infrastructure or technical projects, ensuring rigorous timeline, milestone, and plan-vs-actual tracking.
  • Maintain and report on the health of all managed projects including schedule, budget, scope, and risk to stakeholders at a regular cadence.
  • Identify potential schedule slippages and resource conflicts early and proactively drive the creation and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate activities across infrastructure, network, systems, and vendor teams to promptly remove project blockers.
  • Own all core project documentation including project charters, detailed schedules, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs, and formal status reports.
  • Escalate identified project risks and resource gaps to leadership, always providing clear and data-driven recommendations for resolution.
  • Administer change control processes and manage project scope adjustments to ensure alignment with baseline project plans.

Essential Skills, Experience

  • Active PMP certification is required (non-negotiable).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing technical or infrastructure projects, including direct portfolio-level responsibility for several concurrent initiatives.
  • Proven background in successfully managing projects centered on infrastructure delivery—such as data center deployments, network upgrades, systems migrations, or cloud infrastructure adoption (experience in these areas weighted more strongly than application/software delivery).
  • Strong proficiency in project scheduling and management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms, including reporting to and communicating with executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, handle complex scheduling, remove roadblocks, and keep multiple projects on track within established constraints.
  • Must be local to the Kansas City metro area and able to work onsite 4 days per week (with 1 remote day flexibility).

Qualifications:

  • Healthcare industry experience, particularly with projects requiring compliance (e.g., HIPAA), managing change windows, or coordinating downtimes, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing vendor or contractor resources alongside internal technical teams will be considered an asset.
