Position Title: Network Assurance Consultant
Location Information
Travel / Remote (Up to 50% travel required; must manage own travel and expenses)
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive network infrastructure assessments to determine readiness for Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) deployment across federal medical facilities.
- Analyze LAN, WAN, and WLAN infrastructure and document changes required for successful EHRM implementation.
- Perform detailed site analyses of wiring closets, computer rooms, inter-building wiring, mobile bus sites, and all forward-deployed hardware locations.
- Assess computer room specifications, including power, cooling, space, network/power connections, and requirements for both main and remote sites.
- Evaluate network capacity: establish baselines, identify required upgrades, and forecast future needs to support new systems.
- Develop and provide detailed documentation including network configuration specifications, performance metrics, security/compliance status, and wireless coverage analysis.
- Deliver comprehensive network readiness assessments and recommendations to support optimal and secure operation of EHRM systems and devices.
- Work collaboratively within a team to coordinate travel and project timelines in accordance with market schedules, with flexibility to balance work and personal commitments.
- Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and procedures, taking an active role in safeguarding company and client assets.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned within the contract scope.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Proven experience in network infrastructure assessment, design, and documentation—specifically in large, multi-site environments.
- Expertise with LAN, WAN, WLAN topologies, cabling, computer room design, and facility-wide networking standards.
- Ability to analyze and document power capacity, cooling, space constraints, and connectivity within computer rooms and data centers.
- Well-versed in identifying network performance metrics, benchmarks, and security/compliance requirements for health IT systems.
- Familiarity with wireless network coverage analysis, capacity planning, and gap identification for hardware deployments.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail in technical reports and presentations.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills—critical for balancing on-site assessments with remote work and managing dynamic travel schedules.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively (up to 50%), including periods of up to three weeks in a month on-site at various facilities, interspersed with remote work.
- Comfortable managing personal travel logistics and submitting timely, accurate expense documentation for reimbursement.
- Commitment to working collaboratively and maintaining excellent communication to ensure smooth project execution and scheduling.
- Strong initiative, adaptability, and a desire for long-term engagement on a multi-year federal project.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience or familiarity with healthcare or federal project environments highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
