Position Responsibilities:

As a Software Quality Engineer (Consultant), you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of web-based applications by leveraging modern automated testing technologies. The main focus of this role is to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions with an emphasis on using Playwright and Java technology stacks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile Scrum environment to interpret requirements, develop robust test strategies, and deliver reliable software solutions. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts primarily using Playwright with Java.
• Analyzing functional and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage for all features and user stories.
• Performing various types of testing including smoke, functional, integration, and regression to ensure application stability and performance.
• Collaborating closely with developers to identify, reproduce, document, and troubleshoot software defects and issues.
• Actively participating in all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contributing to test strategy development, assisting in detailed test planning, and designing effective test cases to maximize defect detection.
• Maintaining and extending automated test scripts within integrated development environments.
• Utilizing CI/CD pipelines for automating test workflows, enabling rapid feedback and continuous delivery.
• Providing clear, concise, and timely communication regarding test progress, risks, blockers, and identified defects to team members and stakeholders.

Essential Skills, Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Software Quality Engineer or Test Automation Engineer in a professional setting.
• Expertise in Playwright or Selenium frameworks using Java for automated testing of web applications.
• Solid understanding of software testing concepts, QA methodologies, processes, and industry best practices.
• Proven experience in writing clear, maintainable, reusable, and effective automated test scripts.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a close attention to detail.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools.
• Ability to work independently in a consulting role while actively collaborating within Agile cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate test progress, risks, and results to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience working in an Agile development environment is desirable.
• Experience testing both web-based applications and APIs with an understanding of core Java concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium or Playwright frameworks; exposure to Postman for API testing is a plus.
• Proficiency with IntelliJ or similar integrated development environments (IDE), such as Kiro.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, for code management and collaboration.
• Proficiency in writing standard SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
