Position Title: Telecom Operations and Financial Coordinator
Location Information
Des Moines, IA – Onsite
Position Responsibilities:
The Telecom Operations and Financial Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting telecom, network, and operational technology teams. This position functions as the main coordination point between engineering teams, project managers, suppliers, and finance to maintain seamless operational, financial, and procurement workflows. This is a dynamic onsite opportunity requiring proactive communication, excellent organization, and attention to detail.
Key responsibilities include:
- Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders based on input from engineering and project teams.
- Track and receive equipment in Oracle Fusion and monitor purchase orders for timely delivery.
- Provide stakeholders with regular updates regarding order status, estimated arrival, and delivery timelines.
- Solicit and manage vendor quotes, with an emphasis on telecom procurement needs.
- Review, acknowledge, and resolve invoice-related issues such as discrepancies, holds, and revalidation requests.
- Prepare and process monthly contractor and vendor invoices, ensuring time validation and correct project allocation.
- Track capital expenditures and ensure accurate monthly capital budget reporting.
- Allocate costs accurately to appropriate projects, tasks, and funding streams, including government-funded initiatives.
- Maintain financial tracking spreadsheets and reports within Microsoft Teams, ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Support fiber and infrastructure cost tracking across various projects and routes.
- File and oversee damage claims, coordinating with engineers, contractors, locators, and external parties as needed.
- Facilitate cost reclassifications and coordinate corrections with property accounting when required.
- Proofread and review project-related and financial documentation to ensure correctness and compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter resource for Oracle Fusion users, offering support and user guidance as needed.
- Build and nurture effective working relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Prior experience in procurement, operations coordination, finance, or administrative support roles.
- Exceptional organizational capability, adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, project managers, and external vendors.
- Experience supporting capital project management and financial cost tracking is preferred.
- Comfort and proficiency in fast-paced, detail-oriented work environments.
- Strong willingness to learn complex systems and diligently follow established organizational processes.
- Industry experience in telecom, utilities, or infrastructure is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with key tools and technologies such as Oracle Fusion, or similar ERP systems like SAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams for tracking, documentation, and collaboration.
- Experience with vendor management, procurement platforms, and financial tracking/reporting tools.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
