Position Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Position Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, implement, maintain, and optimize hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure systems to support the availability, scalability, security, and performance needs of enterprise environments. You will be at the forefront of cloud modernization using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, cloud-native services, observability, and security best practices. Your responsibilities will include providing advanced technical operations, supporting automation and CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance across infrastructure platforms.
Key duties include:
- Designing, deploying, administering, and optimizing cloud and infrastructure solutions, with emphasis on Microsoft Azure
- Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or equivalent automation frameworks
- Building and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructures
- Developing cloud networking solutions, including virtual networks, VPN connectivity, routing, firewalls, DNS, and hybrid connectivity architectures
- Implementing security controls and infrastructure hardening, encompassing IAM, endpoint protection, network security policies, and intrusion detection/prevention
- Monitoring health, availability, performance, and resource utilization using enterprise monitoring and observability platforms
- Supporting CI/CD pipeline integration and deployment automation, collaborating closely with DevOps and application delivery teams
- Configuring and managing virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere and cloud-native compute offerings
- Managing enterprise networking infrastructure—including LAN/WAN, VPNs, routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, and wireless networking
- Maintaining up-to-date infrastructure documentation, architecture standards, operational procedures, and technical runbooks
- Supporting compliance and governance programs, maintaining technical controls, system configurations, and audit evidence for standards such as PCI DSS, SOC 1, and SOC 2
- Providing Tier III infrastructure engineering support for production environments
- Participating in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule to support enterprise cloud and infrastructure services
Essential Skills, Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and systems administration, with a focus on enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud administration
- Demonstrable expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and ARM/Bicep, including development and operations
- Comprehensive understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere and cloud-native compute solutions)
- Technical knowledge of current hardware, protocols, and systems standards
- Experience managing IP-based systems, multi-subnet/VLAN environments, and enterprise network topologies
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities—able to tackle complex infrastructure challenges
- In-depth knowledge of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing, routing, and switching
- Solid foundation in cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, and compliance requirements
- Keen awareness of applicable data privacy practices and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with end users and management
- Aptitude to lead infrastructure projects, operate with limited supervision, and exercise sound judgment in fast-paced situations
- Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving business needs
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- Professional certifications in Microsoft Azure are preferred
- Previous experience in a regulated enterprise environment and familiarity with frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC 1, and SOC 2 preferred
