Position Responsibilities:

As a Sr. IT Business Analyst, you will play a strategic and hands-on role in bridging business needs with technical execution for complex technology initiatives within the healthcare domain. Leveraging deep expertise in IT systems and healthcare processes, you will work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, development teams, and key stakeholders to deliver transformative solutions in an Agile environment using the Scrum framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as a senior liaison between business stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and technical teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding of business goals.
  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation for intricate healthcare IT initiatives—translating complex business needs into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile and Scrum best practices.
  • Partner with the Product Owner to drive product vision, refine the backlog, prioritize tasks, and ensure clear alignment with the overall product roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master to ensure readiness of stories, identification of dependencies, and effective execution of Agile ceremonies.
  • Provide leadership and participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring deliverables meet both client and compliance standards.
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and dependencies, recommending strategic solutions that drive positive business outcomes.
  • Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities: develop test scenarios, provide execution support, and manage defect triage to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Document and optimize current and future-state workflows, business processes, and data flows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior or mid-level business analysts as needed.
  • Guarantee alignment of solutions with healthcare regulatory, compliance, and data privacy standards.

Essential Skills, Experience

  • 7+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, with substantial hands-on experience in healthcare-focused environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology and the Scrum framework, with proven success delivering complex IT solutions using Agile practices.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with Product Owners and Scrum Masters, with the ability to lead requirements gathering and refinement sessions.
  • Expertise in writing high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed functional documentation that translates business needs into concrete technical tasks.
  • Substantial experience with healthcare systems, workflows, integrations, and industry-specific data flows.
  • Extensive background supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and partnering with QA and development teams to ensure robust solution delivery.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication capabilities, enabling effective leadership of diverse teams and business users.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, lead project workstreams, and navigate ambiguity to deliver measurable value.
  • Senior-level understanding of Agile and Scrum principles, roles, and ceremonies.
  • Advanced analytical and strategic thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority, fostering collaboration within cross-functional, fast-paced environments.
  • Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on delivering measurable and strategic business value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience with healthcare data standards and interoperability protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12, APIs) is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools, such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and regulations (such as HIPAA) strongly preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, Certified Scrum Master, Professional Scrum Product Owner) are a plus.
