Position Title: Sr. ServiceNow Developer
Location Information Watsonville, CA
Position Responsibilities:
As a Senior ServiceNow Developer, you will play a key leadership role in the design, development, configuration, and optimization of the ServiceNow platform. You will drive the implementation of new modules, integrations, automation opportunities, and platform enhancements to meet strategic business objectives. This position requires effective collaboration across IT and various business functions to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions while ensuring stability and high performance.
- Lead technical design sessions for ServiceNow applications and create detailed solution documentation.
- Configure and enhance both core and custom applications, workflows, user interfaces, and system integrations within the ServiceNow environment.
- Analyze business processes to identify automation, AI solutions, and system optimization opportunities.
- Manage platform upgrades, perform impact assessments, and coordinate necessary remediation activities.
- Oversee day-to-day administration and promptly resolve production support issues.
- Mentor and guide other ServiceNow team members, including analysts and junior developers.
- Support and develop multiple ServiceNow modules, including ITSM (Incident, Request, Problem, Asset, CMDB, Knowledge), ITBM (Idea, Demand, Project, Resource, Finance), ITAM, and ITOM.
- Create and manage Business Rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Notifications, UI Pages, Macros, APIs, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Follow best practices for release management, source control, and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, performing process definition, requirements gathering, solution design, training documentation, and data migration.
- Design and implement data import and export solutions between ServiceNow and external systems.
- Collaborate closely with business units to define requirements, streamline processes, and deliver effective ServiceNow solutions.
- Develop and deliver user training tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create operational and executive-level reports and dashboards leveraging ServiceNow reporting and analytics features.
- Maintain awareness of the latest ServiceNow capabilities to recommend platform improvements and new features.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting overall platform excellence and user experience.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience as a dedicated ServiceNow Developer.
- Experience spanning key functional domains of ServiceNow, including ITSM, ITBM, ITAM, and ITOM modules.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and IT Service Management methodologies.
- Expertise in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript), configuration, and workflow design, as well as familiarity with XML, HTML, REST/SOAP APIs.
- Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies; strong understanding of security best practices and DevOps-oriented development principles.
- Proficiency with version control and CI/CD tools, such as Azure DevOps or comparable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage integrations between ServiceNow and third-party applications or systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Comfortable working on multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience developing user training materials and conducting platform training for end users.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience across ServiceNow platform, especially in ITSM, ITBM, ITAM, and ITOM modules.
- Strong command of scripting languages (JavaScript), markup languages (XML, HTML), and API integrations (REST, SOAP).
- Deep familiarity with workflow/form design and automation within the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience leveraging version control and CI/CD tools, such as Azure DevOps.
- ServiceNow certifications are a plus.
