Position Title:     Network Build Engineer (Mid-Level)

Location Information  

Dallas, TX (Hybrid onsite, closet evaluations as needed)

Position Responsibilities:

As a Network Build Engineer (Mid-Level), you will be accountable for planning, configuring, and deploying both wired and wireless network infrastructure for new site builds and expansions. You will work with a variety of technologies, translating project requirements into tangible, high-performing solutions. This execution-focused role is perfect for professionals with five to six years of hands-on build experience in medium to large network environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing project requirements to determine network build needs for new sites and expansions.
  • Scoping required network infrastructure components such as switches, access points, and supporting devices.
  • Configuring and deploying wired and wireless solutions in compliance with defined standards.
  • Building and configuring network environments leveraging Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and Aruba Wireless technologies.
  • Performing Meraki dashboard configuration, including site creation and step-by-step build out.
  • Deploying and providing ongoing support for Aruba wireless solutions.
  • Conducting wireless scoping exercises and developing access point placement plans.
  • Executing installations efficiently with minimal need for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Validating network builds post-installation to ensure accuracy and optimal performance.
  • Collaborating proactively with project managers and senior engineers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Documenting configuration settings and creating comprehensive “as built” documentation.

 

Essential Skills, Experience


  • Five to six years of hands-on experience with full lifecycle execution of network builds, from planning and scoping to deployment and validation.
  • Solid experience working with Cisco wired and wireless networking solutions.
  • Direct experience deploying and supporting Cisco Meraki environments including dashboard configuration and site deployment.
  • Proven expertise in Aruba wireless solutions and associated tools.
  • Ability to assess site-specific requirements and convert them into robust, deployable technical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to following defined build and configuration processes.
  • Comfortable working on multiple project-based assignments within delivery-driven environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with cross-functional project teams.

Preferred skills and background:

  • Experience executing network builds for healthcare, clinic, or distributed branch environments.
  • Exposure to wireless site survey tools and access point planning methodologies.
  • Background in site expansions or network refresh projects.
  • Professional services or client-facing delivery experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE, ThousandEyes, and monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds or equivalent.

  • Cisco Meraki devices and Meraki Dashboard
  • Aruba Wireless solutions
  • Wireless AP planning tools
  • SolarWinds or similar monitoring and performance management platforms
  • Cisco ISE and ThousandEyes (considered a plus)

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a comparable technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant certifications (such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba Certified Mobility Associate/Professional, or Meraki certifications) are a plus.
