Position Title: Epic Wisdom Applications Analyst
Location Information Hybrid – Oakland, CA
Position Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Epic team, the Epic Wisdom Applications Analyst will play an integral role in the implementation, configuration, optimization, and ongoing support of the Epic Wisdom platform. You will collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure that the system meets clinical and business needs, while also facilitating user adoption and knowledge transfer.
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and setup of the Epic Wisdom system, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Gather and analyze business and clinical requirements in collaboration with clinical staff, IT professionals, business analysts, and department leaders.
- Configure and customize Epic Wisdom modules to align with complex workflow requirements, particularly those related to dental practice operations, clinical user interaction, and integration with scheduling and billing systems.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for end-users and internal teams to facilitate a smooth transition to the new Epic Wisdom system.
- Provide day-to-day support for the Epic Wisdom application, addressing user issues, troubleshooting technical problems, and ensuring overall system stability.
- Participate in the planning, execution, and testing of Epic Wisdom upgrades, module enhancements, and new feature rollouts to ensure seamless adoption and minimum disruption to operations.
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation for Epic Wisdom workflows, configurations, and customizations.
- Work closely with IT and technical staff to ensure Epic Wisdom is properly integrated with existing infrastructure and other healthcare information systems.
- Analyze existing Epic Wisdom workflows, identify opportunities for optimization, and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and user satisfaction.
- Act as a key resource for go-live support and provide ongoing consulting and expertise for system improvements and strategic application decisions.
- Facilitate and lead meetings, knowledge transfer sessions, and stakeholder communications to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current on Epic product updates, best practices, and industry trends to continuously enhance the value and performance of the organization's Epic environment.
Essential Skills, Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Application Analyst, including recent hands-on work with Epic Wisdom.
- Epic Wisdom certification is required (EPIC Ambulatory certificate plus Wisdom project experience with a path to Epic Wisdom certification).
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing, configuring, and supporting Epic Practice Management system products, specifically Epic Wisdom.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems, ideally in clinical and dental practice settings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven record of identifying workflow bottlenecks and delivering process improvements.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating with a variety of audiences including clinicians, technical teams, and leadership.
- Skilled facilitator, able to lead meetings, capture requirements, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Proven experience with analytics tools, user-focused design, and data visualization to drive actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of system build, end-user workflows, and application adoption patterns.
- Ability to deliver user training and knowledge transfer sessions tailored to diverse competency levels.
- Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment, with the ability to support both remote and on-site initiatives as needed.
- Experience in a clinical or healthcare environment is a strong plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Epic Wisdom certification required (EPIC Ambulatory certificate with Wisdom project experience and a path toward Wisdom certification will be considered).
- 5+ years of experience in an Application Analyst role, with a minimum of 2 years focused on Epic Wisdom.
- Background in healthcare IT, dental practice management, or clinical workflow optimization is strongly preferred.
