Job Title: Oncology – Consultant II
End Customer: Oracle Health + VA
Start Date: As early as 3/31/25
Projected End Date: Undetermined
Employment Type: W2, Hourly (no subcontractors/C2Cs)
Location: Planned to be mostly remote with 15% travel. Must be willing to go up to 100% travel as required by the site. All associates must have a strong, reliable Wi-Fi network, and a quiet, dedicated space for remote work.
Schedule: Mon – Friday, time zones may vary dependent on site location. No guarantee of hours or a consistent schedule, all driven by VA and Oracle Health contracting.
Job Description:
Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.
Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
Responsibilities: As a Consultant II, you will:
- Consult with clients on service line workflow, and guide them through interdependencies and design decision impacts.
- Provide solution oversight, direction, and expertise to stakeholders.
- Lead the design and implementation of client-specific solutions, ensuring the system meets workflow requirements and recommending optimizations.
- Mitigate solution risks and issues, driving proactive resolutions.
- Drive and manage internal team initiatives and collaborate on project goals.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to improve services.
- Document solution designs, workflows, and configurations thoroughly and accurately.
- Actively contribute to project and task planning, resource management, and coordination efforts.
- Facilitate client meetings, training sessions, and workshops to ensure successful solution implementation and user adoption.
- Analyze client feedback to improve operational workflows and solutions.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and training initiatives with internal teams.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the integration and configuration of Oracle Health products with other systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop best practices and continuous improvement strategies within the organization.
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends, product updates, and innovations to guide clients effectively.
- Assist in the creation of training materials, user manuals, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in healthcare technology implementations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
- Perform solution testing, troubleshooting, and validation in client environments.
- Support project post-implementation efforts, including issue resolution and system optimization.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Oncology workflows, particularly in oncology care management, chemotherapy administration, radiation therapy, and oncology treatment planning.
- Proficiency in Oracle Health (Cerner) technologies and platforms, particularly in configuring and supporting Oncology modules for oncology departments and related care services.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality results.

- Adept at facilitating meetings, discussions, and decision-making with stakeholders at various levels of an organization.
Technical Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in Oncology systems, particularly in Oracle Health (Cerner) Oncology modules and solutions used in oncology care management, treatment planning, and administration.
- Experience working with Oncology workflows, including chemotherapy ordering and administration, radiation therapy planning, and oncology patient navigation.
- Understanding of the full oncology treatment lifecycle, from diagnosis and staging to treatment delivery, follow-up care, and outcome tracking.
- Knowledge of oncology clinical decision support tools and how they impact treatment plans, medication management, and patient safety.
- Familiarity with oncology care coordination, ensuring that patients receive integrated and timely care across multidisciplinary teams.
Tech Stack & System Integration:
- Oracle Health (Cerner): Hands-on experience configuring and optimizing Oncology solutions in Cerner Millennium, particularly in oncology treatment planning, chemotherapy management, and patient navigation systems.
- Proficiency in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and its integration with Oncology systems, improving performance and scalability in oncology care environments.
- Familiarity with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) for seamless data exchange between Oncology systems and other clinical systems, enabling enhanced coordination of care.
- Experience integrating Oncology Patient Records with Electronic Health Records (EHR), improving both patient care and operational efficiencies.
- Expertise in the integration of Oncology Decision Support Systems to enhance diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment protocol adherence.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to Oncology care (e.g., FDA, OIG, HIPAA).
System Optimization & Workflow Design:
- Experience in optimizing Oncology workflows to enhance treatment efficacy, reduce delays, and improve clinical decision-making in cancer care.
- Proficient in designing and implementing custom Oncology solutions that improve clinician productivity, enhance patient safety, and deliver better care outcomes.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues within the Oncology module, ensuring systems are fully integrated and effective in supporting oncology teams.

- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within the scope of position.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned, which may evolve based on the needs of the client and the project.
- Perform all clearance requirements and associated onboarding responsibilities/tasks on personal time as required within specified deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands, including occasional extended hours and travel on short notice.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in healthcare IT and related fields.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and government regulations.
Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma (Secondary School); Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education preferred.
Experience:
- At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
- At least 1 year of healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, and/or other client-facing or IT solution work experience.
- At least 5 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education in relevant areas.
- Proven track record of successful project implementation, customer relations, and IT solutions delivery in the healthcare space.
- Experience in working with VA-specific systems or other government healthcare technologies is highly desirable.
Security Clearance:
All associates onboarded to this program will need to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen. Must obtain interim Public Trust eligibility during onboarding.
