Position Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients on service line workflow, and guide them through interdependencies and design decision impacts.
- Provide solution oversight, direction, and expertise to stakeholders.
- Lead the design and implementation of client-specific solutions, ensuring the system meets workflow requirements and recommending optimizations.
- Mitigate solution risks and issues, driving proactive resolutions.
- Drive and manage internal team initiatives and collaborate on project goals.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to improve services.
- Document solution designs, workflows, and configurations thoroughly and accurately.
- Actively contribute to project and task planning, resource management, and coordination efforts.
- Facilitate client meetings, training sessions, and workshops to ensure successful solution implementation and user adoption.
- Analyze client feedback to improve operational workflows and solutions.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and training initiatives with internal teams.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the integration and configuration of Oracle Health products with other systems.
Essential Skills, Experience:
- At least 1 year of healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, and/or other client-facing or IT solution work experience.
- At least 5 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education in relevant areas.
- Proven track record of successful project implementation, customer relations, and IT solutions delivery in the healthcare space.
- Experience in working with VA-specific systems or other government healthcare technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of perioperative workflows, particularly surgical scheduling, patient preparation, perioperative care coordination, and post-operative follow-up processes.
- Proficiency in Oracle Health (Cerner) technologies and platforms, particularly in configuring and supporting perioperative and referral management systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical content to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality results.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment.
- Adept at facilitating meetings, discussions, and decision-making with stakeholders at various levels of an organization.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma (Secondary School); Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education preferred.
Experience:
- At least 6 years total combined related work experience and completed higher education, including:
- At least 1 year of healthcare information technology (HCIT) consulting, HCIT support, and/or other client-facing or IT solution work experience.
- At least 5 years of additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education in relevant areas.
- Proven track record of successful project implementation, customer relations, and IT solutions delivery in the healthcare space.
- Experience in working with VA-specific systems or other government healthcare technologies is highly desirable.
Technical Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in perioperative systems—specifically Oracle Health's Perioperative solutions (formerly Cerner), including surgical scheduling, operating room (OR) management, anesthesia workflows, and post-operative care systems.
- Experience working with referral management systems, particularly in the preoperative phase, to ensure proper coordination of care between referring physicians, surgical teams, and specialists.
- Knowledge of perioperative care coordination tools, including technologies for tracking patient progress across the surgical care continuum—from preoperative assessment to discharge and recovery.
- Hands-on experience in perioperative clinical workflows and understanding their role in improving surgical outcomes, optimizing patient flow, and reducing delays or complications in surgery.
Tech Stack & System Integration:
- Oracle Health (Cerner): Hands-on experience with Cerner Millennium Perioperative solutions, focusing on surgical scheduling, patient data management, OR workflow optimization, and surgical documentation.
- Proficiency in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and its integration with Cerner Perioperative solutions, ensuring the effective management of patient data and integration with EHRs and other clinical systems.
- Experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) to ensure seamless exchange of data between perioperative systems, surgical care teams, and other healthcare providers.
- Experience with workflow automation tools to streamline patient scheduling, anesthesia workflow, surgical team communication, and resource allocation in the OR.
- Ability to configure surgical workflows—from pre-surgical assessments, OR scheduling, anesthesia care, and post-op monitoring—ensuring seamless coordination across the entire perioperative process.
- Data analysis skills for improving surgical scheduling accuracy, optimizing room utilization, and identifying bottlenecks in perioperative workflows.
Integration and Customization:
- Experience customizing Cerner Perioperative solutions to meet specific client needs, including integration with EHRs, imaging systems, and clinical decision support tools.
- Worked with clients to integrate third-party solutions to improve patient flow, surgical capacity management, and operating room efficiency.
- Expertise in optimizing the communication and collaboration between surgical teams, anesthesia providers, nurses, and post-surgical care teams through Perioperative solutions.
