Overview:
We are seeking a Sr. Network Architect-Cloud to lead the strategic design and transformation of enterprise networking infrastructure, migrating from on-prem to a native cloud environment. This role requires deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred) and AWS, with a focus on cloud security, network segmentation, and automation. The ideal candidate will drive network strategy, architecture, and roadmap development while collaborating with C-level executives, stakeholders, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the migration from on-prem to native cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable).
• Design large-scale, global enterprise networks that align with business needs.
• Define Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions and integrate cloud-native security measures.
• Transition from Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls to a cloud-native firewall solution and migrate VPN infrastructure off ASA/Palo Alto.
• Implement PCI-compliant segmentation and secure multi-VPC network architecture in GCP and AWS.
• Architect and design the next-generation data center environment for scalability, performance, and security.
• Assess cloud-native solutions comparable to current on-prem technologies and oversee vendor relationships.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform, Gitbucket, and automation scripting for network deployments and configuration management.
• Develop 2-year strategic roadmaps for cloud networking, security, and infrastructure evolution.
• Evaluate the migration of AS400 systems from vendor-managed environments into the cloud.
Essential Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in network architecture, cloud networking, and enterprise security and 12+ years overall experience
• Extensive experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (required) and AWS/Azure (preferred).
• Expertise in cloud security, SASE architecture, and network segmentation for compliance (e.g., PCI).
• Proven experience leading large-scale network migrations to cloud environments.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation tools.
• Experience designing high-performance, multi-VPC network topologies in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN (VMware Velocloud), MPLS, and cloud-native networking.
• Deep understanding of firewall technologies, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and cloud-native firewalls.
• Experience with load balancing, VPNs, and DHCP in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with VMware NSX and cloud networking best practices.
